Fencing Companies In Walla Walla Extra Busy In Walla Walla This Summer

The construction industry in Walla Walla, Washington in general, and the roofing and fencing industries in particular, got a little more backlogged in January because of a huge windstorm that hit the Northwest on January 4th, 2008. High winds blew through Walla Walla County; causing massive destruction to roofs and fences all through the Walla Walla Valley.

Walla Walla already had a backlog of homes that needed roofers to install new roofs due to the huge increase in new custom homes currently being built in Walla Walla. This is being caused by all of the out of town buyers flocking to Walla Walla from California and Seattle to be a part of the boom in Walla Walla’s Wine industry. The January windstorm just added to the burden of Walla Walla Roofing Companies and their ability to keep up with the local roofing demand when it blew through town ripping off shingles and knocking down over $2 million worth of trees onto houses, cars and businesses in Walla Walla, Washington, Milton-Freewater, Oregon and College Place, Washington.

Walla Walla Fencing Companies also felt the sting of the windstorm as it knocked down fences all over the Valley. Some wind gusts where so strong that they bent chain link fences to the ground and caused metal fence posts to bend until they were lying parallel to the ground. Wooden fences were also hit hard, with fence posts broken off at the ground and cedar fences spread all over the county by some of the strongest winds Walla Walla residents have felt in years.

It has now been 4 months since the windstorm, and there are still many homes in the area without fences and whose roofs are covered with tarps to keep out the rain until roofers can get to them. Roofing companies from all over Washington and Oregon are moving branch offices into Walla Walla to get in on the roofing gold rush. So, if you have a roofing or fencing company, and you need work, head over to Walla Walla, Washington and join in the construction boom!
